Praise of God and His lordship 1–4

Ayah 1

1. بِسۡمِبِسْمِIn (the) nameGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. ٱللَّهِاللّٰهِ(of) AllahGenitive · مَجْرُور
3. ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِالرَّحْمٰنِthe Most GraciousGenitive · مَجْرُور
4. ٱلرَّحِيمِالرَّحِيْمِthe Most MercifulGenitive · مَجْرُور

In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Ayah 2

1. ٱلۡحَمۡدُاَلْحَمْدُAll praises and thanksNominative · مَرْفُوع
2. لِلَّهِلِلّٰهِ(be) to AllahGenitive · مَجْرُور
3. رَبِّthe LordGenitive · مَجْرُور
4. ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَالْعٰلَمِيْنَof the universeGenitive · مَجْرُور

[All] praise is [due] to Allāh, Lord of the worlds -

Ayah 3

1. ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِالرَّحْمٰنِThe Most GraciousGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. ٱلرَّحِيمِالرَّحِيْمِthe Most MercifulGenitive · مَجْرُور

The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,

Ayah 4

1. مَٰلِكِمٰلِكِ(The) MasterGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. يَوۡمِيَوْمِ(of the) DayGenitive · مَجْرُور
3. ٱلدِّينِالدِّيْنِ(of the) JudgmentGenitive · مَجْرُور

Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.

Prayer for Guidance 5–7

Ayah 5

1. إِيَّاكَاِيَّاكَYou AlonePronoun · ضَمِير
2. نَعۡبُدُنَعْبُدُwe worshipImperfect · Form I
3. وَإِيَّاكَوَاِيَّاكَand You AlonePronoun · ضَمِير
4. نَسۡتَعِينُنَسْتَعِيْنُwe ask for helpImperfect · Form X

It is You we worship and You we ask for help.

Ayah 6

1. ٱهۡدِنَااِهْدِنَاGuide usImperative · Form I
2. ٱلصِّرَٰطَالصِّرَاطَ(to) the pathAccusative · مَنْصُوب
3. ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَالْمُسْتَقِيْمَthe straightAccusative · مَنْصُوب

Guide us to the straight path -

Ayah 7

1. صِرَٰطَصِرَاطَ(The) pathAccusative · مَنْصُوب
2. ٱلَّذِينَالَّذِيْنَ(of) thoseRelative pronoun · اِسْم مَوْصُول
3. أَنۡعَمۡتَاَنْعَمْتَYou have bestowed (Your) FavorsPerfect · Form IV
4. عَلَيۡهِمۡعَلَيْهِمْ‮٦࣢ۙon themPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
5. غَيۡرِغَيْرِnot (of)Genitive · مَجْرُور
6. ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِالْمَغْضُوْبِthose who earned (Your) wrathGenitive · مَجْرُور
7. عَلَيۡهِمۡعَلَيْهِمْon themselvesPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
8. وَلَاand notNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
9. ٱلضَّآلِّينَالضَّا࢜لِّيْنَ(of) those who go astrayGenitive · مَجْرُور

The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have earned [Your] anger or of those who are astray.
