Disbelievers' Astonishment at Resurrection 1–5

Ayah 1

Ayah 2

9. هَٰذَاهٰذَاThisDemonstrative · اِسْم إِشَارَة
10. شَيۡءٌشَيْءٌ(is) a thingNominative · مَرْفُوع
11. عَجِيبٌعَجِيْبٌamazingNominative · مَرْفُوع

But they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say, "This is an amazing thing.

Ayah 3

1. أَءِذَاءَاِذَاWhat! WhenTime adverb · ظَرْف زَمَان

3. وَكُنَّاand have becomePerfect · Form I
4. تُرَابٗاۖتُرَابًاۚdustAccusative · مَنْصُوب
5. ذَٰلِكَذٰلِكَThatDemonstrative · اِسْم إِشَارَة
6. رَجۡعُۢرَجْعٌۢ(is) a returnNominative · مَرْفُوع
7. بَعِيدٞبَعِيْدٌfarNominative · مَرْفُوع

When we have died and have become dust, [we will return to life]? That is a distant [i.e., unlikely] return."

Ayah 4

1. قَدۡقَدْCertainlyHarf of certainty · حَرْف تَحْقِيق
2. عَلِمۡنَاعَلِمْنَاWe knowPerfect · Form I

4. تَنقُصُتَنْقُصُdiminishesImperfect · Form I

We know what the earth diminishes [i.e., consumes] of them, and with Us is a retaining record.

Ayah 5

But they denied the truth when it came to them, so they are in a confused condition.

Rain and the Raising of the Dead 6–11

Ayah 6

Have they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured it and adorned it and [how] it has no rifts?
