Ayah 1 سُورَةٌ سُوْرَةٌ A Surah Nominative · مَرْفُوع أَنزَلۡنَٰهَا اَنْزَلْنٰهَا We (have) sent it down Perfect · Form IV وَفَرَضۡنَٰهَا وَفَرَضْنٰهَا and We (have) made it obligatory Perfect · Form I وَأَنزَلۡنَا وَاَنْزَلْنَا and We (have) revealed Perfect · Form IV فِيهَآ فِيْهَا͏ٓ therein Preposition · حَرْف جَرّ ءَايَٰتِۭ اٰيٰتٍۭ Verses Accusative · مَنْصُوب بَيِّنَٰتٖ بَيِّنٰتٍ clear Accusative · مَنْصُوب لَّعَلَّكُمۡ لَّعَلَّكُمْ so that you may Accusative Harf · حَرْف نَصْب تَذَكَّرُونَ تَذَكَّرُوْنَ take heed Imperfect · Form V [This is] a sūrah which We have sent down and made [that within it] obligatory and revealed therein verses of clear evidence that you might remember.
Ayah 2 ٱلزَّانِيَةُ اَلزَّانِيَةُ The fornicatress Nominative · مَرْفُوع وَٱلزَّانِي وَالزَّانِيْ and the fornicator Nominative · مَرْفُوع فَٱجۡلِدُواْ فَاجْلِدُوْا [then] flog Imperative · Form I كُلَّ each Accusative · مَنْصُوب وَٰحِدٖ وَاحِدٍ one Genitive · مَجْرُور مِّنۡهُمَا مِّنْهُمَا of them Preposition · حَرْف جَرّ مِاْئَةَ مِاي͏ٔ͏َةَ (with) hundred Accusative · مَنْصُوب جَلۡدَةٖۖ جَلْدَةٍࣕ lash(es) Genitive · مَجْرُور وَلَا وَّلَا And (let) not Prohibition Harf · حَرْف نَهْي تَأۡخُذۡكُم تَاْخُذْكُمْ withhold you Imperfect · Form I بِهِمَا pity for them Pronoun · ضَمِير رَأۡفَةٞ رَاْفَةٌ pity for them Nominative · مَرْفُوع فِي فِيْ concerning Preposition · حَرْف جَرّ دِينِ دِيْنِ (the) religion of Allah Genitive · مَجْرُور ٱللَّهِ اللّٰهِ (the) religion of Allah Genitive · مَجْرُور إِن اِنْ if Conditional Harf · حَرْف شَرْط كُنتُمۡ كُنْتُمْ you Perfect · Form I تُؤۡمِنُونَ تُو͏ٔ͏ْمِنُوْنَ believe Imperfect · Form IV بِٱللَّهِ بِاللّٰهِ in Allah Genitive · مَجْرُور وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ وَالْيَوْمِ and the Day Genitive · مَجْرُور ٱلۡأٓخِرِۖ الْاٰخِرِۚ the Last Genitive · مَجْرُور وَلۡيَشۡهَدۡ وَلْيَشْهَدْ And let witness Imperfect · Form I عَذَابَهُمَا their punishment Accusative · مَنْصُوب طَآئِفَةٞ طَا࢜ىِٕفَةٌ a group Nominative · مَرْفُوع مِّنَ of Preposition · حَرْف جَرّ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ الْمُو͏ٔ͏ْمِنِيْنَ the believers Genitive · مَجْرُور The [unmarried] woman or [unmarried] man found guilty of sexual intercourse - lash each one of them with a hundred lashes, and do not be taken by pity for them in the religion [i.e., law] of Allāh, if you should believe in Allāh and the Last Day. And let a group of the believers witness their punishment.
Ayah 3 ٱلزَّانِي اَلزَّانِيْ The fornicator Nominative · مَرْفُوع لَا (will) not Negative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي يَنكِحُ يَنْكِحُ marry Imperfect · Form I إِلَّا اِلَّا except Restriction Harf · أَدَاة حَصْر زَانِيَةً a fornicatress Accusative · مَنْصُوب أَوۡ اَوْ or Conjunction · حَرْف عَطْف مُشۡرِكَةٗ مُشْرِكَةًؗ a polytheist woman Accusative · مَنْصُوب وَٱلزَّانِيَةُ وَّالزَّانِيَةُ and the fornicatress Nominative · مَرْفُوع لَا (will) not Negative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي يَنكِحُهَآ يَنْكِحُهَا͏ٓ marry her Imperfect · Form I إِلَّا اِلَّا except Restriction Harf · أَدَاة حَصْر زَانٍ a fornicator Nominative · مَرْفُوع أَوۡ اَوْ or Conjunction · حَرْف عَطْف مُشۡرِكٞۚ مُشْرِكٌۚ a polytheist man Nominative · مَرْفُوع وَحُرِّمَ And is forbidden Perfect · Form II ذَٰلِكَ ذٰلِكَ that Demonstrative · اِسْم إِشَارَة عَلَى عَلَي to Preposition · حَرْف جَرّ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ الْمُو͏ٔ͏ْمِنِيْنَ the believers Genitive · مَجْرُور The fornicator does not marry except a [female] fornicator or polytheist, and none marries her except a fornicator or a polytheist, and that [i.e., marriage to such persons] has been made unlawful to the believers.
