Opening Description of the Quran 1–6

Ayah 1

1. طسٓۚطٰس࢜ࣞTa SeenQuranic initials · حُرُوف مُقَطَّعَة
2. تِلۡكَتِلْكَTheseDemonstrative · اِسْم إِشَارَة
3. ءَايَٰتُاٰيٰتُ(are the) VersesNominative · مَرْفُوع
4. ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِالْقُرْاٰنِ(of) the QuranGenitive · مَجْرُور
5. وَكِتَابٖوَكِتَابٍand a BookGenitive · مَجْرُور
6. مُّبِينٍمُّبِيْنٍclearGenitive · مَجْرُور

Ṭā, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur’ān [i.e., recitation] and a clear Book

Ayah 2

1. هُدٗىهُدًيA guidanceGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. وَبُشۡرَىٰوَّبُشْرٰيand glad tidingsNominative · مَرْفُوع
3. لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَلِلْمُو͏ٔ͏ْمِنِيْنَfor the believersGenitive · مَجْرُور

As guidance and good tidings for the believers

Ayah 3

1. ٱلَّذِينَالَّذِيْنَThose whoRelative pronoun · اِسْم مَوْصُول
2. يُقِيمُونَيُقِيْمُوْنَestablishImperfect · Form IV
3. ٱلصَّلَوٰةَالصَّلٰوةَthe prayerAccusative · مَنْصُوب
4. وَيُؤۡتُونَوَيُو͏ٔ͏ْتُوْنَand giveImperfect · Form IV
5. ٱلزَّكَوٰةَالزَّكٰوةَzakahAccusative · مَنْصُوب
6. وَهُموَهُمْand theyPronoun · ضَمِير
7. بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِبِالْاٰخِرَةِin the HereafterGenitive · مَجْرُور
8. هُمۡهُمْ[they]Pronoun · ضَمِير
9. يُوقِنُونَيُوْقِنُوْنَbelieve with certaintyImperfect · Form IV

Who establish prayer and give zakāh, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].

Ayah 4

1. إِنَّاِنَّIndeedAccusative Harf · حَرْف نَصْب
2. ٱلَّذِينَالَّذِيْنَthose whoRelative pronoun · اِسْم مَوْصُول
3. لَا(do) notNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
4. يُؤۡمِنُونَيُو͏ٔ͏ْمِنُوْنَbelieveImperfect · Form IV
5. بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِبِالْاٰخِرَةِin the HereafterGenitive · مَجْرُور
6. زَيَّنَّاWe have made fair-seemingPerfect · Form II
7. لَهُمۡلَهُمْto themPronoun · ضَمِير
8. أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡاَعْمَالَهُمْtheir deedsAccusative · مَنْصُوب
9. فَهُمۡفَهُمْso theyPronoun · ضَمِير
10. يَعۡمَهُونَيَعْمَهُوْنَwander blindlyImperfect · Form I

Indeed, for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made pleasing to them their deeds, so they wander blindly.

Ayah 5

1. أُوْلَٰٓئِكَاُولٰ࢜ىِٕكَThoseDemonstrative · اِسْم إِشَارَة
2. ٱلَّذِينَالَّذِيْنَ(are) the onesRelative pronoun · اِسْم مَوْصُول
3. لَهُمۡلَهُمْfor themPronoun · ضَمِير
4. سُوٓءُسُوْ࢜ءُ(is) an evilNominative · مَرْفُوع
5. ٱلۡعَذَابِالْعَذَابِ[the] punishmentGenitive · مَجْرُور
6. وَهُمۡوَهُمْand theyPronoun · ضَمِير
7. فِيinPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
8. ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِالْاٰخِرَةِthe HereafterGenitive · مَجْرُور
9. هُمُ[they]Pronoun · ضَمِير
10. ٱلۡأَخۡسَرُونَالْاَخْسَرُوْنَ(will be) the greatest losersNominative · مَرْفُوع

Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers.

Ayah 6

1. وَإِنَّكَوَاِنَّكَAnd indeed, youAccusative Harf · حَرْف نَصْب
2. لَتُلَقَّىلَتُلَقَّيsurely, receiveImperfect · Form II
3. ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَالْقُرْاٰنَthe QuranAccusative · مَنْصُوب
4. مِنمِنْfrom [near]Preposition · حَرْف جَرّ
5. لَّدُنۡلَّدُنْfrom [near]Genitive · مَجْرُور
6. حَكِيمٍحَكِيْمٍthe All-WiseGenitive · مَجْرُور
7. عَلِيمٍعَلِيْمٍthe All-KnowerGenitive · مَجْرُور

And indeed, [O Muḥammad], you receive the Qur’ān from one Wise and Knowing.
