Affirmation of the Prophet's Mission 1–6

Ayah 1

1. يسٓيٰس࢜Ya SeenQuranic initials · حُرُوف مُقَطَّعَة

Yā, Seen.

Ayah 2

1. وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانِوَالْقُرْاٰنِBy the QuranGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. ٱلۡحَكِيمِالْحَكِيْمِthe WiseGenitive · مَجْرُور

By the wise Qur’ān,

Ayah 3

1. إِنَّكَاِنَّكَIndeed, youAccusative Harf · حَرْف نَصْب
2. لَمِنَ(are) amongPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
3. ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَالْمُرْسَلِيْنَthe MessengersGenitive · مَجْرُور

Indeed you, [O Muḥammad], are from among the messengers,

Ayah 4

1. عَلَىٰعَلٰيOnPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
2. صِرَٰطٖصِرَاطٍa PathGenitive · مَجْرُور
3. مُّسۡتَقِيمٖمُّسْتَقِيْمٍStraightGenitive · مَجْرُور

On a straight path.

Ayah 5

1. تَنزِيلَتَنْزِيْلَA revelationAccusative · مَنْصُوب
2. ٱلۡعَزِيزِالْعَزِيْزِ(of) the All-MightyGenitive · مَجْرُور
3. ٱلرَّحِيمِالرَّحِيْمِthe Most MercifulGenitive · مَجْرُور

[This is] a revelation of the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,

Ayah 6

1. لِتُنذِرَلِتُنْذِرَThat you may warnImperfect · Form IV
2. قَوۡمٗاقَوْمًاa peopleAccusative · مَنْصُوب
3. مَّآمَّا͏ٓnotNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
4. أُنذِرَاُنْذِرَwere warnedPerfect · Form IV
5. ءَابَآؤُهُمۡاٰبَا࢜و͏ٔ͏ُهُمْtheir forefathersNominative · مَرْفُوع
6. فَهُمۡفَهُمْso theyPronoun · ضَمِير
7. غَٰفِلُونَغٰفِلُوْنَ(are) heedlessNominative · مَرْفُوع

That you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are unaware.

The Obstinate and the Receptive 7–12

Ayah 7

1. لَقَدۡلَقَدْCertainlyHarf of certainty · حَرْف تَحْقِيق
2. حَقَّ(has) proved truePerfect · Form I
3. ٱلۡقَوۡلُالْقَوْلُthe wordNominative · مَرْفُوع
4. عَلَىٰٓعَلٰٓيuponPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
5. أَكۡثَرِهِمۡاَكْثَرِهِمْmost of themGenitive · مَجْرُور
6. فَهُمۡفَهُمْso theyPronoun · ضَمِير
7. لَا(do) notNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
8. يُؤۡمِنُونَيُو͏ٔ͏ْمِنُوْنَbelieveImperfect · Form IV

Already the word [i.e., decree] has come into effect upon most of them, so they do not believe.

Ayah 8

1. إِنَّااِنَّاIndeed, WeAccusative Harf · حَرْف نَصْب
2. جَعَلۡنَاجَعَلْنَا[We] have placedPerfect · Form I
3. فِيٓفِيْٓonPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
4. أَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡاَعْنَاقِهِمْtheir necksGenitive · مَجْرُور
5. أَغۡلَٰلٗااَغْلٰلًاiron collarsAccusative · مَنْصُوب
6. فَهِيَand theyPronoun · ضَمِير
7. إِلَىاِلَي(are up) toPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
8. ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِالْاَذْقَانِthe chinsGenitive · مَجْرُور
9. فَهُمفَهُمْso theyPronoun · ضَمِير
10. مُّقۡمَحُونَمُّقْمَحُوْنَ(are with) heads raised upNominative · مَرْفُوع

Indeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft.

Ayah 9

1. وَجَعَلۡنَاوَجَعَلْنَاAnd We have madePerfect · Form I
2. مِنۢمِنْۢfromPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
3. بَيۡنِبَيْنِbefore/betweenGenitive · مَجْرُور
4. أَيۡدِيهِمۡاَيْدِيْهِمْtheir hands/their frontNominative · مَرْفُوع
5. سَدّٗاسَدًّاa barrierAccusative · مَنْصُوب
6. وَمِنۡوَّمِنْand fromPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
7. خَلۡفِهِمۡخَلْفِهِمْbehind themGenitive · مَجْرُور
8. سَدّٗاسَدًّاa barrierAccusative · مَنْصُوب
9. فَأَغۡشَيۡنَٰهُمۡفَاَغْشَيْنٰهُمْand We covered themPerfect · Form IV
10. فَهُمۡفَهُمْso theyPronoun · ضَمِير
11. لَا(do) notNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
12. يُبۡصِرُونَيُبْصِرُوْنَseeImperfect · Form IV

And We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier and covered them, so they do not see.

Ayah 10

1. وَسَوَآءٌوَسَوَا࢜ءٌAnd it (is) sameNominative · مَرْفُوع
2. عَلَيۡهِمۡعَلَيْهِمْto themPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
3. ءَأَنذَرۡتَهُمۡءَاَنْذَرْتَهُمْwhether you warn themPerfect · Form IV
4. أَمۡاَمْorConjunction · حَرْف عَطْف
5. لَمۡلَمْ(do) notNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
6. تُنذِرۡهُمۡتُنْذِرْهُمْwarn themImperfect · Form IV
7. لَاnotNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
8. يُؤۡمِنُونَيُو͏ٔ͏ْمِنُوْنَthey will believeImperfect · Form IV

And it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe.
