Cheating in Weights and Measures 1–6

Ayah 1

1. وَيۡلٞوَيْلٌWoeNominative · مَرْفُوع
2. لِّلۡمُطَفِّفِينَلِّلْمُطَفِّفِيْنَto those who give lessGenitive · مَجْرُور

Woe to those who give less [than due],

Ayah 2

1. ٱلَّذِينَالَّذِيْنَThose whoRelative pronoun · اِسْم مَوْصُول
2. إِذَااِذَاwhenTime adverb · ظَرْف زَمَان
3. ٱكۡتَالُواْاكْتَالُوْاthey take a measurePerfect · Form VIII
4. عَلَىعَلَيfromPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
5. ٱلنَّاسِالنَّاسِthe peopleGenitive · مَجْرُور
6. يَسۡتَوۡفُونَيَسْتَوْفُوْنَthey take in fullImperfect · Form X

Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full.

Ayah 3

1. وَإِذَاوَاِذَاBut whenTime adverb · ظَرْف زَمَان
2. كَالُوهُمۡكَالُوْهُمْthey give by measure (to) themPerfect · Form I
3. أَواَوْorConjunction · حَرْف عَطْف
4. وَّزَنُوهُمۡوَّزَنُوْهُمْthey weigh (for) themPerfect · Form I
5. يُخۡسِرُونَيُخْسِرُوْنَthey give lessImperfect · Form IV

But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss.

Ayah 4

1. أَلَااَلَاDo notNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
2. يَظُنُّthinkImperfect · Form I
3. أُوْلَٰٓئِكَاُولٰ࢜ىِٕكَthoseDemonstrative · اِسْم إِشَارَة
4. أَنَّهُماَنَّهُمْthat theyAccusative Harf · حَرْف نَصْب
5. مَّبۡعُوثُونَمَّبْعُوْثُوْنَ(will be) resurrectedNominative · مَرْفُوع

Do they not think that they will be resurrected

Ayah 5

1. لِيَوۡمٍلِيَوْمٍFor a DayGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. عَظِيمٖعَظِيْمٍGreatGenitive · مَجْرُور

For a tremendous Day -

Ayah 6

1. يَوۡمَيَّوْمَ(The) DayAccusative · مَنْصُوب
2. يَقُومُيَقُوْمُwill standImperfect · Form I
3. ٱلنَّاسُالنَّاسُmankindNominative · مَرْفُوع
4. لِرَبِّbefore (the) LordGenitive · مَجْرُور
5. ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَالْعٰلَمِيْنَ(of) the worldsGenitive · مَجْرُور

The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds?

Sijjin, the Record of the Wicked 7–13

Ayah 7

1. كـَلَّآكَلَّا͏ٓNayAversion Harf · حَرْف رَدْع
2. إِنَّاِنَّIndeedAccusative Harf · حَرْف نَصْب
3. كِتَٰبَكِتٰبَ(the) recordAccusative · مَنْصُوب
4. ٱلۡفُجَّارِالْفُجَّارِ(of) the wickedGenitive · مَجْرُور
5. لَفِيلَفِيْ(is) surely inPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
6. سِجِّينٖسِجِّيْنٍSijjinGenitive · مَجْرُور

No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen.

Ayah 8

1. وَمَآوَمَا͏ٓAnd whatInterrogative noun · اِسْم اِسْتِفْهَام
2. أَدۡرَىٰكَاَدْرٰىكَcan make you knowPerfect · Form IV
3. مَاwhatInterrogative noun · اِسْم اِسْتِفْهَام
4. سِجِّينٞسِجِّيْنٌ(is) SijjinNominative · مَرْفُوع

And what can make you know what is sijjeen?

Ayah 9

1. كِتَٰبٞكِتٰبٌA bookNominative · مَرْفُوع
2. مَّرۡقُومٞمَّرْقُوْمٌwrittenNominative · مَرْفُوع

It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed.

Ayah 10

1. وَيۡلٞوَيْلٌWoeNominative · مَرْفُوع
2. يَوۡمَئِذٖيَّوْمَىِٕذٍthat DayTime adverb · ظَرْف زَمَان
3. لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَلِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَto the deniersGenitive · مَجْرُور

Woe, that Day, to the deniers,

Ayah 11

1. ٱلَّذِينَالَّذِيْنَThose whoRelative pronoun · اِسْم مَوْصُول
2. يُكَذِّبُونَيُكَذِّبُوْنَdenyImperfect · Form II
3. بِيَوۡمِبِيَوْمِ(the) DayGenitive · مَجْرُور
4. ٱلدِّينِالدِّيْنِ(of) the JudgmentGenitive · مَجْرُور

Who deny the Day of Recompense.

Ayah 12

1. وَمَاAnd notNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
2. يُكَذِّبُcan denyImperfect · Form II
3. بِهِۦٓبِهٖٓ[of] itPronoun · ضَمِير
4. إِلَّااِلَّاexceptRestriction Harf · أَدَاة حَصْر
5. كُلُّeveryNominative · مَرْفُوع
6. مُعۡتَدٍمُعْتَدٍtransgressorGenitive · مَجْرُور
7. أَثِيمٍاَثِيْمٍsinfulGenitive · مَجْرُور

And none deny it except every sinful transgressor.

Ayah 13

1. إِذَااِذَاWhenTime adverb · ظَرْف زَمَان
2. تُتۡلَىٰتُتْلٰيare recitedImperfect · Form I
3. عَلَيۡهِعَلَيْهِto himPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
4. ءَايَٰتُنَااٰيٰتُنَاOur VersesNominative · مَرْفُوع
5. قَالَhe saysPerfect · Form I
6. أَسَٰطِيرُاَسَاطِيْرُStoriesNominative · مَرْفُوع
7. ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَالْاَوَّلِيْنَ(of) the former (people)Genitive · مَجْرُور

When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."
