Allah's Watch over Every Soul 1–4

Ayah 1

1. وَٱلسَّمَآءِوَالسَّمَا࢜ءِBy the skyGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. وَٱلطَّارِقِوَالطَّارِقِand the night comerGenitive · مَجْرُور

By the sky and the knocker

Ayah 2

1. وَمَآوَمَا͏ٓAnd whatInterrogative noun · اِسْم اِسْتِفْهَام
2. أَدۡرَىٰكَاَدْرٰىكَcan make you knowPerfect · Form IV
3. مَاwhatInterrogative noun · اِسْم اِسْتِفْهَام
4. ٱلطَّارِقُالطَّارِقُthe night comer (is)Nominative · مَرْفُوع

And what can make you know what is the knocker?

Ayah 3

1. ٱلنَّجۡمُالنَّجْمُ(It is) the starNominative · مَرْفُوع
2. ٱلثَّاقِبُالثَّاقِبُthe piercingNominative · مَرْفُوع

It is the piercing star.

Ayah 4

1. إِناِنْNotNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
2. كُلُّ(is) everyNominative · مَرْفُوع
3. نَفۡسٖنَفْسٍsoulGenitive · مَجْرُور
4. لَّمَّاbutExceptive Harf · أَدَاة اِسْتِثْنَاء
5. عَلَيۡهَاعَلَيْهَاover itPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
6. حَافِظٞحَافِظٌ(is) a protectorNominative · مَرْفُوع

There is no soul but that it has over it a protector.

Human Origins and the Resurrection 5–10

Ayah 5

1. فَلۡيَنظُرِفَلْيَنْظُرِSo let seeImperfect · Form I
2. ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُالْاِنْسَانُmanNominative · مَرْفُوع
3. مِمَّfrom whatPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
4. خُلِقَhe is createdPerfect · Form I

So let man observe from what he was created.

Ayah 6

1. خُلِقَHe is createdPerfect · Form I
2. مِنمِنْfromPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
3. مَّآءٖمَّا࢜ءٍa waterGenitive · مَجْرُور
4. دَافِقٖدَافِقٍejectedGenitive · مَجْرُور

He was created from a fluid, ejected,

Ayah 7

1. يَخۡرُجُيَّخْرُجُComing forthImperfect · Form I
2. مِنۢمِنْۢfromPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
3. بَيۡنِبَيْنِbetweenGenitive · مَجْرُور
4. ٱلصُّلۡبِالصُّلْبِthe backboneGenitive · مَجْرُور
5. وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِوَالتَّرَا࢜ىِٕبِand the ribsGenitive · مَجْرُور

Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs.

Ayah 8

1. إِنَّهُۥاِنَّهٗIndeed, HeAccusative Harf · حَرْف نَصْب
2. عَلَىٰعَلٰيtoPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
3. رَجۡعِهِۦرَجْعِهٖreturn himGenitive · مَجْرُور
4. لَقَادِرٞلَقَادِرٌ(is) AbleNominative · مَرْفُوع

Indeed, He [i.e., Allāh], to return him [to life], is Able.

Ayah 9

1. يَوۡمَيَوْمَ(The) DayAccusative · مَنْصُوب
2. تُبۡلَىتُبْلَيwill be testedImperfect · Form I
3. ٱلسَّرَآئِرُالسَّرَا࢜ىِٕرُthe secretsNominative · مَرْفُوع

The Day when secrets will be put on trial,

Ayah 10

1. فَمَاThen notNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
2. لَهُۥلَهٗ(is) for himPronoun · ضَمِير
3. مِنمِنْanyPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
4. قُوَّةٖقُوَّةٍpowerGenitive · مَجْرُور
5. وَلَاوَّلَاand notNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
6. نَاصِرٖنَاصِرٍany helperGenitive · مَجْرُور

Then he [i.e., man] will have no power or any helper.

The Quran's Decisive Authority 11–17

Ayah 11

1. وَٱلسَّمَآءِوَالسَّمَا࢜ءِBy the skyGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. ذَاتِwhichGenitive · مَجْرُور
3. ٱلرَّجۡعِالرَّجْعِreturnsGenitive · مَجْرُور

By the sky which sends back

Ayah 12

1. وَٱلۡأَرۡضِوَالْاَرْضِAnd the earthGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. ذَاتِwhichGenitive · مَجْرُور
3. ٱلصَّدۡعِالصَّدْعِcracks openGenitive · مَجْرُور

And [by] the earth which splits,

Ayah 13

1. إِنَّهُۥاِنَّهٗIndeed, itAccusative Harf · حَرْف نَصْب
2. لَقَوۡلٞلَقَوْلٌ(is) surely a WordNominative · مَرْفُوع
3. فَصۡلٞفَصْلٌdecisiveNominative · مَرْفُوع

Indeed, it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is a decisive statement,

Ayah 14

1. وَمَاوَّمَاAnd notNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
2. هُوَitPronoun · ضَمِير
3. بِٱلۡهَزۡلِبِالْهَزْلِ(is) for amusementGenitive · مَجْرُور

And it is not amusement.

Ayah 15

1. إِنَّهُمۡاِنَّهُمْIndeed, theyAccusative Harf · حَرْف نَصْب
2. يَكِيدُونَيَكِيْدُوْنَare plottingImperfect · Form I
3. كَيۡدٗاكَيْدًاa plotAccusative · مَنْصُوب

Indeed, they are planning a plan,

Ayah 16

1. وَأَكِيدُوَّاَكِيْدُBut I am planningImperfect · Form I
2. كَيۡدٗاكَيْدًاa planAccusative · مَنْصُوب

But I am planning a plan.
