Praise of the Creator Who Guides 1–5

Ayah 1

1. سَبِّحِGlorifyImperative · Form II
2. ٱسۡمَاسْمَ(the) nameAccusative · مَنْصُوب
3. رَبِّكَ(of) your LordGenitive · مَجْرُور
4. ٱلۡأَعۡلَىالْاَعْلَيthe Most HighGenitive · مَجْرُور

Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High,

Ayah 2

1. ٱلَّذِيالَّذِيْThe One WhoRelative pronoun · اِسْم مَوْصُول
2. خَلَقَcreatedPerfect · Form I
3. فَسَوَّىٰفَسَوّٰيthen proportionedPerfect · Form II

Who created and proportioned

Ayah 3

1. وَٱلَّذِيوَالَّذِيْAnd the One WhoRelative pronoun · اِسْم مَوْصُول
2. قَدَّرَmeasuredPerfect · Form II
3. فَهَدَىٰفَهَدٰيthen guidedPerfect · Form I

And who destined and [then] guided

Ayah 4

1. وَٱلَّذِيٓوَالَّذِيْٓAnd the One WhoRelative pronoun · اِسْم مَوْصُول
2. أَخۡرَجَاَخْرَجَbrings forthPerfect · Form IV
3. ٱلۡمَرۡعَىٰالْمَرْعٰيthe pastureAccusative · مَنْصُوب

And who brings out the pasture

Ayah 5

1. فَجَعَلَهُۥفَجَعَلَهٗAnd then makes itPerfect · Form I
2. غُثَآءًغُثَا࢜ءًstubbleAccusative · مَنْصُوب
3. أَحۡوَىٰاَحْوٰيdarkAccusative · مَنْصُوب

And [then] makes it black stubble.

Allah's Promise to Preserve Revelation 6–8

Ayah 6

1. سَنُقۡرِئُكَسَنُقْرِي͏ٔ͏ُكَWe will make you reciteImperfect · Form IV
2. فَلَاso notNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
3. تَنسَىٰٓتَنْسٰٓيyou will forgetImperfect · Form I

We will make you recite, [O Muḥammad], and you will not forget,

Ayah 7

1. إِلَّااِلَّاExceptExceptive Harf · أَدَاة اِسْتِثْنَاء
2. مَاwhatRelative pronoun · اِسْم مَوْصُول
3. شَآءَشَا࢜ءَwillsPerfect · Form I
4. ٱللَّهُۚاللّٰهُؕAllahNominative · مَرْفُوع
5. إِنَّهُۥاِنَّهٗIndeed, HeAccusative Harf · حَرْف نَصْب
6. يَعۡلَمُيَعْلَمُknowsImperfect · Form I
7. ٱلۡجَهۡرَالْجَهْرَthe manifestAccusative · مَنْصُوب
8. وَمَاand whatRelative pronoun · اِسْم مَوْصُول
9. يَخۡفَىٰيَخْفٰيis hiddenImperfect · Form I

Except what Allāh should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden.

Ayah 8

1. وَنُيَسِّرُكَAnd We will ease youImperfect · Form II
2. لِلۡيُسۡرَىٰلِلْيُسْرٰيto the easeGenitive · مَجْرُور

And We will ease you toward ease.

Who Benefits from Reminders 9–13

Ayah 9

1. فَذَكِّرۡفَذَكِّرْSo remindImperative · Form II
2. إِناِنْifConditional Harf · حَرْف شَرْط
3. نَّفَعَتِbenefitsPerfect · Form I
4. ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰالذِّكْرٰيthe reminderNominative · مَرْفُوع

So remind, if the reminder should benefit;

Ayah 10

1. سَيَذَّكَّرُHe will pay heed Imperfect · Form V
2. مَنمَنْ(one) whoRelative pronoun · اِسْم مَوْصُول
3. يَخۡشَىٰيَّخْشٰيfears (Allah)Imperfect · Form I

He who fears [Allāh] will be reminded.

Ayah 11

1. وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَاAnd will avoid itImperfect · Form V
2. ٱلۡأَشۡقَىالْاَشْقَيthe wretched oneNominative · مَرْفُوع

But the wretched one will avoid it –

Ayah 12

1. ٱلَّذِيالَّذِيْThe one whoRelative pronoun · اِسْم مَوْصُول
2. يَصۡلَىيَصْلَيwill burnImperfect · Form I
3. ٱلنَّارَالنَّارَ(in) the FireAccusative · مَنْصُوب
4. ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰالْكُبْرٰي[the] greatAccusative · مَنْصُوب

[He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire,

Ayah 13

1. ثُمَّThenConjunction · حَرْف عَطْف
2. لَاnotNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
3. يَمُوتُيَمُوْتُhe will dieImperfect · Form I
4. فِيهَافِيْهَاthereinPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
5. وَلَاand notNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
6. يَحۡيَىٰيَحْيٰيwill liveImperfect · Form I

Neither dying therein nor living.

Self-Purification and the Hereafter 14–19

Ayah 14

1. قَدۡقَدْCertainlyHarf of certainty · حَرْف تَحْقِيق
2. أَفۡلَحَاَفْلَحَhas succeededPerfect · Form IV
3. مَنمَنْ(one) whoRelative pronoun · اِسْم مَوْصُول
4. تَزَكَّىٰتَزَكّٰيpurifies (himself)Perfect · Form V

He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself

Ayah 15

1. وَذَكَرَAnd remembersPerfect · Form I
2. ٱسۡمَاسْمَ(the) nameAccusative · مَنْصُوب
3. رَبِّهِۦرَبِّهٖ(of) his LordGenitive · مَجْرُور
4. فَصَلَّىٰفَصَلّٰيand praysPerfect · Form II

And mentions the name of his Lord and prays.
