Praise of God and His lordship 1–4

بِسۡمِبِسْمِIn (the) name
ٱللَّهِاللّٰهِ(of) Allah
ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِالرَّحْمٰنِthe Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِالرَّحِيْمِthe Most Merciful

In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

ٱلۡحَمۡدُاَلْحَمْدُAll praises and thanks
لِلَّهِلِلّٰهِ(be) to Allah
رَبِّthe Lord
ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَالْعٰلَمِيْنَof the universe

[All] praise is [due] to Allāh, Lord of the worlds -

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِالرَّحْمٰنِThe Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِالرَّحِيْمِthe Most Merciful

The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,

مَٰلِكِمٰلِكِ(The) Master
يَوۡمِيَوْمِ(of the) Day
ٱلدِّينِالدِّيْنِ(of the) Judgment

Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.

1 In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. 2 [All] praise is [due] to Allāh, Lord of the worlds - 3 The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, 4 Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.

Prayer for Guidance 5–7

إِيَّاكَاِيَّاكَYou Alone
نَعۡبُدُنَعْبُدُwe worship
وَإِيَّاكَوَاِيَّاكَand You Alone
نَسۡتَعِينُنَسْتَعِيْنُwe ask for help

It is You we worship and You we ask for help.

ٱهۡدِنَااِهْدِنَاGuide us
ٱلصِّرَٰطَالصِّرَاطَ(to) the path
ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَالْمُسْتَقِيْمَthe straight

Guide us to the straight path -

صِرَٰطَصِرَاطَ(The) path
ٱلَّذِينَالَّذِيْنَ(of) those
أَنۡعَمۡتَاَنْعَمْتَYou have bestowed (Your) Favors
عَلَيۡهِمۡعَلَيْهِمْ‮٦࣢ۙon them
غَيۡرِغَيْرِnot (of)
ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِالْمَغْضُوْبِthose who earned (Your) wrath
عَلَيۡهِمۡعَلَيْهِمْon themselves
وَلَاand not
ٱلضَّآلِّينَالضَّا࢜لِّيْنَ(of) those who go astray

The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have earned [Your] anger or of those who are astray.

5 It is You we worship and You we ask for help. 6 Guide us to the straight path - 7 The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have earned [Your] anger or of those who are astray.
