Destroyed [i.e., cursed] were the companions of the trench
ٱلنَّارِالنَّارِ(Of) the fire
ذَاتِfull
ٱلۡوَقُودِالْوَقُوْدِ(of) the fuel
5
[Containing] the fire full of fuel,
إِذۡاِذْWhen
هُمۡهُمْthey
عَلَيۡهَاعَلَيْهَاby it
قُعُودٞقُعُوْدٌ(were) sitting
6
When they were sitting near it.
وَهُمۡوَّهُمْAnd they
عَلَىٰعَلٰيover
مَاwhat
يَفۡعَلُونَيَفْعَلُوْنَthey were doing
بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَبِالْمُو͏ٔ͏ْمِنِيْنَto the believers
شُهُودٞشُهُوْدٌwitnesses
7
And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses.
وَمَاAnd not
نَقَمُواْنَقَمُوْاthey resented
مِنۡهُمۡمِنْهُمْ[of] them
إِلَّآاِلَّا͏ٓexcept
أَناَنْthat
يُؤۡمِنُواْيُّو͏ٔ͏ْمِنُوْاthey believed
بِٱللَّهِبِاللّٰهِin Allah
ٱلۡعَزِيزِالْعَزِيْزِthe All-Mighty
ٱلۡحَمِيدِالْحَمِيْدِthe Praiseworthy
8
And they resented them not except because they believed in Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy,
ٱلَّذِيالَّذِيْThe One Who
لَهُۥلَهٗfor Him
مُلۡكُمُلْكُ(is) the dominion
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِالسَّمٰوٰتِ(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚوَالْاَرْضِؕand the earth
وَٱللَّهُوَاللّٰهُand Allah
عَلَىٰعَلٰيon
كُلِّevery
شَيۡءٖشَيْءٍthing
شَهِيدٌشَهِيْدٌ(is) a Witness
9
To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allāh, over all things, is Witness.

وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِوَالْمُو͏ٔ͏ْمِنٰتِand the believing women
ثُمَّthen
لَمۡلَمْnot
يَتُوبُواْيَتُوْبُوْاthey repented
فَلَهُمۡفَلَهُمْthen for them
عَذَابُ(is the) punishment
جَهَنَّمَ(of) Hell
وَلَهُمۡوَلَهُمْand for them
عَذَابُ(is the) punishment
ٱلۡحَرِيقِالْحَرِيْقِ(of) the Burning Fire
10
Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire.
إِنَّاِنَّIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَالَّذِيْنَthose who
ءَامَنُواْاٰمَنُوْاbelieve
وَعَمِلُواْوَعَمِلُواand do
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِالصّٰلِحٰتِthe righteous deeds
لَهُمۡلَهُمْfor them
جَنَّٰتٞجَنّٰتٌ(will be) Gardens
تَجۡرِيتَجْرِيْflow
مِنمِنْfrom
تَحۡتِهَاتَحْتِهَاunderneath it
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚالْاَنْهٰرُؕؔthe rivers
ذَٰلِكَذٰلِكَThat
ٱلۡفَوۡزُالْفَوْزُ(is) the success
ٱلۡكَبِيرُالْكَبِيْرُthe great
11
Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment.
10 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 11 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment.
Indeed, the assault [i.e., vengeance] of your Lord is severe.
إِنَّهُۥاِنَّهٗIndeed He
هُوَHe
يُبۡدِئُيُبْدِي͏ٔ͏ُoriginates
وَيُعِيدُوَيُعِيْدُand repeats
13
Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats.
وَهُوَAnd He
ٱلۡغَفُورُالْغَفُوْرُ(is) the Oft-Forgiving
ٱلۡوَدُودُالْوَدُوْدُthe Most Loving
14
And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate,
ذُوOwner (of)
ٱلۡعَرۡشِالْعَرْشِthe Throne
ٱلۡمَجِيدُالْمَجِيْدُthe Glorious
15
Honorable Owner of the Throne,
فَعَّالٞفَعَّالٌDoer
لِّمَاof what
يُرِيدُيُرِيْدُHe intends
16
Effecter of what He intends.
12 Indeed, the assault [i.e., vengeance] of your Lord is severe. 13 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 14 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 15 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 16 Effecter of what He intends.
But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial,
وَٱللَّهُوَّاللّٰهُBut Allah
مِنمِنْfrom
وَرَآئِهِموَّرَا࢜ىِٕهِمْbehind them
مُّحِيطُۢمُّحِيْطٌencompasses
20
While Allāh encompasses them from behind.
17 Has there reached you the story of the soldiers - 18 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamūd? 19 But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, 20 While Allāh encompasses them from behind.
