بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

The Night of Decree 1–5
إِنَّآاِنَّا͏ٓIndeed, We
أَنزَلۡنَٰهُاَنْزَلْنٰهُrevealed it
فِيفِيْin
لَيۡلَةِلَيْلَةِ(the) Night
ٱلۡقَدۡرِالْقَدْرِ(of) Power
Indeed, We sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down during the Night of Decree.
وَمَآوَمَا͏ٓAnd what
أَدۡرَىٰكَاَدْرٰىكَcan make you know
مَاwhat
لَيۡلَةُلَيْلَةُ(the) Night
ٱلۡقَدۡرِالْقَدْرِ(of) Power (is)
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
لَيۡلَةُلَيْلَةُ(The) Night
ٱلۡقَدۡرِالْقَدْرِۙ(of) Power
خَيۡرٞخَيْرٌ(is) better
مِّنۡمِّنْthan
أَلۡفِاَلْفِa thousand
شَهۡرٖشَهْرٍmonth(s)
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
تَنَزَّلُDescend
ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُالْمَلٰ࢜ىِٕكَةُthe Angels
وَٱلرُّوحُوَالرُّوْحُand the Spirit
فِيهَافِيْهَاtherein
بِإِذۡنِبِاِذْنِby (the) permission
رَبِّهِمرَبِّهِمْۚ(of) their Lord
مِّنمِنْfor
كُلِّevery
أَمۡرٖاَمْرٍaffair
The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
سَلَٰمٌسَلٰمٌࣞۛPeace
هِيَit (is)
حَتَّىٰحَتّٰيuntil
مَطۡلَعِمَطْلَعِ(the) emergence
ٱلۡفَجۡرِالْفَجْرِ(of) the dawn
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.
1 Indeed, We sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down during the Night of Decree. 2 And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? 3 The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. 4 The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. 5 Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.
