Oaths Affirming the Coming Judgment 1–7

Ayah 1

1. وَٱلۡمُرۡسَلَٰتِوَالْمُرْسَلٰتِBy the ones sent forthGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. عُرۡفٗاعُرْفًاone after anotherAccusative · مَنْصُوب

By those [winds] sent forth in gusts

Ayah 2

1. فَٱلۡعَٰصِفَٰتِفَالْعٰصِفٰتِAnd the winds that blowGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. عَصۡفٗاعَصْفًاviolentlyAccusative · مَنْصُوب

And the winds that blow violently

Ayah 3

1. وَٱلنَّٰشِرَٰتِوَّالنّٰشِرٰتِAnd the ones that scatterGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. نَشۡرٗانَشْرًاfar and wideAccusative · مَنْصُوب

And [by] the winds that spread [clouds]

Ayah 4

1. فَٱلۡفَٰرِقَٰتِفَالْفٰرِقٰتِAnd those who separateGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. فَرۡقٗافَرْقًا(by the) CriterionAccusative · مَنْصُوب

And those [angels] who bring criterion

Ayah 5

1. فَٱلۡمُلۡقِيَٰتِفَالْمُلْقِيٰتِAnd those who bring downGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. ذِكۡرًاذِكْرًا(the) ReminderAccusative · مَنْصُوب

And those [angels] who deliver a message

Ayah 6

1. عُذۡرًاعُذْرًا(As) justificationAccusative · مَنْصُوب
2. أَوۡاَوْorConjunction · حَرْف عَطْف
3. نُذۡرًانُذْرًاwarningAccusative · مَنْصُوب

As justification or warning,

Ayah 7

1. إِنَّمَااِنَّمَاIndeed, whatAccusative Harf · حَرْف نَصْب
2. تُوعَدُونَتُوْعَدُوْنَyou are promisedImperfect · Form I
3. لَوَٰقِعٞلَوَاقِعٌwill surely occurNominative · مَرْفُوع

Indeed, what you are promised is to occur.

Cosmic Signs of the Day of Decision 8–15

Ayah 8

1. فَإِذَافَاِذَاSo whenTime adverb · ظَرْف زَمَان
2. ٱلنُّجُومُالنُّجُوْمُthe starsNominative · مَرْفُوع
3. طُمِسَتۡطُمِسَتْare obliteratedPerfect · Form I

So when the stars are obliterated

Ayah 9

1. وَإِذَاوَاِذَاAnd whenTime adverb · ظَرْف زَمَان
2. ٱلسَّمَآءُالسَّمَا࢜ءُthe heavenNominative · مَرْفُوع
3. فُرِجَتۡفُرِجَتْis cleft asunderPerfect · Form I

And when the heaven is opened

Ayah 10

1. وَإِذَاوَاِذَاAnd whenTime adverb · ظَرْف زَمَان
2. ٱلۡجِبَالُالْجِبَالُthe mountainsNominative · مَرْفُوع
3. نُسِفَتۡنُسِفَتْare blown awayPerfect · Form I

And when the mountains are blown away

Ayah 11

1. وَإِذَاوَاِذَاAnd whenTime adverb · ظَرْف زَمَان
2. ٱلرُّسُلُالرُّسُلُthe MessengersNominative · مَرْفُوع
3. أُقِّتَتۡاُقِّتَتْare gathered to their appointed timePerfect · Form II

And when the messengers' time has come...

Ayah 12

1. لِأَيِّلِاَيِّFor whatGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. يَوۡمٍيَوْمٍDayGenitive · مَجْرُور
3. أُجِّلَتۡاُجِّلَتْare (these) postponedPerfect · Form II

For what Day was it postponed?

Ayah 13

1. لِيَوۡمِلِيَوْمِFor (the) DayGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. ٱلۡفَصۡلِالْفَصْلِ(of) JudgmentGenitive · مَجْرُور

For the Day of Judgement.

Ayah 14

1. وَمَآوَمَا͏ٓAnd whatInterrogative noun · اِسْم اِسْتِفْهَام
2. أَدۡرَىٰكَاَدْرٰىكَwill make you knowPerfect · Form IV
3. مَاwhatInterrogative noun · اِسْم اِسْتِفْهَام
4. يَوۡمُيَوْمُ(is the) DayNominative · مَرْفُوع
5. ٱلۡفَصۡلِالْفَصْلِ(of) the JudgmentGenitive · مَجْرُور

And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement?

Ayah 15

1. وَيۡلٞوَيْلٌWoeNominative · مَرْفُوع
2. يَوۡمَئِذٖيَّوْمَىِٕذٍthat DayTime adverb · ظَرْف زَمَان
3. لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَلِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَto the deniersGenitive · مَجْرُور

Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

The Fate of Earlier Nations 16–19

Ayah 16

1. أَلَمۡاَلَمْDid notNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
2. نُهۡلِكِنُهْلِكِWe destroyImperfect · Form IV
3. ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَالْاَوَّلِيْنَthe former (people)Accusative · مَنْصُوب

Did We not destroy the former peoples?

Ayah 17

1. ثُمَّThenConjunction · حَرْف عَطْف
2. نُتۡبِعُهُمُنُتْبِعُهُمُWe follow them upImperfect · Form IV
3. ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَالْاٰخِرِيْنَ(with) the later onesAccusative · مَنْصُوب

Then We will follow them with the later ones.

Ayah 18

1. كَذَٰلِكَكَذٰلِكَThusDemonstrative · اِسْم إِشَارَة
2. نَفۡعَلُنَفْعَلُWe dealImperfect · Form I
3. بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَبِالْمُجْرِمِيْنَwith the criminalsGenitive · مَجْرُور

Thus do We deal with the criminals.

Ayah 19

1. وَيۡلٞوَيْلٌWoeNominative · مَرْفُوع
2. يَوۡمَئِذٖيَّوْمَىِٕذٍthat DayTime adverb · ظَرْف زَمَان
3. لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَلِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَto the deniersGenitive · مَجْرُور

Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

Human Creation as Allah's Sign 20–24

Ayah 20

1. أَلَمۡاَلَمْDid notNegative Harf · حَرْف نَفْي
2. نَخۡلُقكُّمنَخْلُقْكُّمْWe create youImperfect · Form I
3. مِّنمِّنْfromPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
4. مَّآءٖمَّا࢜ءٍa waterGenitive · مَجْرُور
5. مَّهِينٖمَّهِيْنٍdespicableGenitive · مَجْرُور

Did We not create you from a liquid disdained?
