The Angels Who Take Souls 1–5

Ayah 1

1. وَٱلنَّٰزِعَٰتِوَالنّٰزِعٰتِBy those who extractGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. غَرۡقٗاغَرْقًاviolentlyAccusative · مَنْصُوب

By those [angels] who extract with violence

Ayah 2

1. وَٱلنَّٰشِطَٰتِوَّالنّٰشِطٰتِAnd those who draw outGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. نَشۡطٗانَشْطًاgentlyAccusative · مَنْصُوب

And [by] those who remove with ease

Ayah 3

1. وَٱلسَّٰبِحَٰتِوَّالسّٰبِحٰتِAnd those who glideGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. سَبۡحٗاسَبْحًاswimmingAccusative · مَنْصُوب

And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming

Ayah 4

1. فَٱلسَّٰبِقَٰتِفَالسّٰبِقٰتِAnd those who race each otherGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. سَبۡقٗاسَبْقًا(in) a raceAccusative · مَنْصُوب

And those who race each other in a race

Ayah 5

1. فَٱلۡمُدَبِّرَٰتِفَالْمُدَبِّرٰتِAnd those who arrangeGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. أَمۡرٗااَمْرًا(the) matterAccusative · مَنْصُوب

And those who arrange [each] matter,

Terror at the Two Blasts 6–9

Ayah 6

1. يَوۡمَيَوْمَ(The) DayAccusative · مَنْصُوب
2. تَرۡجُفُتَرْجُفُwill quakeImperfect · Form I
3. ٱلرَّاجِفَةُالرَّاجِفَةُthe quaking oneNominative · مَرْفُوع

On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation],

Ayah 7

1. تَتۡبَعُهَاتَتْبَعُهَاFollows itImperfect · Form I
2. ٱلرَّادِفَةُالرَّادِفَةُthe subsequentNominative · مَرْفُوع

There will follow it the subsequent [one].

Ayah 8

1. قُلُوبٞقُلُوْبٌHeartsNominative · مَرْفُوع
2. يَوۡمَئِذٖيَّوْمَىِٕذٍthat DayTime adverb · ظَرْف زَمَان
3. وَاجِفَةٌوَّاجِفَةٌwill palpitateNominative · مَرْفُوع

Hearts, that Day, will tremble,

Ayah 9

1. أَبۡصَٰرُهَااَبْصَارُهَاTheir eyesNominative · مَرْفُوع
2. خَٰشِعَةٞخَاشِعَةٌhumbledNominative · مَرْفُوع

Their eyes humbled.

The Deniers' Doubt About Resurrection 10–14

Ayah 10

1. يَقُولُونَيَقُوْلُوْنَThey sayImperfect · Form I
2. أَءِنَّاءَاِنَّاWill weAccusative Harf · حَرْف نَصْب
3. لَمَرۡدُودُونَلَمَرْدُوْدُوْنَindeed be returnedNominative · مَرْفُوع
4. فِيtoPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
5. ٱلۡحَافِرَةِالْحَافِرَةِthe former stateGenitive · مَجْرُور

They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]?

Ayah 11

1. أَءِذَاءَاِذَاWhat! WhenTime adverb · ظَرْف زَمَان
2. كُنَّاwe arePerfect · Form I
3. عِظَٰمٗاعِظَامًاbonesAccusative · مَنْصُوب
4. نَّخِرَةٗنَّخِرَةًdecayedAccusative · مَنْصُوب

Even if we should be decayed bones?"

Ayah 12

1. قَالُواْقَالُوْاThey sayPerfect · Form I
2. تِلۡكَتِلْكَThisDemonstrative · اِسْم إِشَارَة
3. إِذٗااِذًاthenAnswer Harf · حَرْف جَوَاب
4. كَرَّةٌ(would be) a returnNominative · مَرْفُوع
5. خَاسِرَةٞخَاسِرَةٌlosingNominative · مَرْفُوع

They say, "That, then, would be a losing return."

Ayah 13

1. فَإِنَّمَافَاِنَّمَاThen onlyAccusative Harf · حَرْف نَصْب
2. هِيَitPronoun · ضَمِير
3. زَجۡرَةٞزَجْرَةٌ(will be) a shoutNominative · مَرْفُوع
4. وَٰحِدَةٞوَّاحِدَةٌsingleNominative · مَرْفُوع

Indeed, it will be but one shout,

Ayah 14

1. فَإِذَافَاِذَاAnd beholdSurprise Harf · حَرْف فُجَاءَة
2. هُمهُمْTheyPronoun · ضَمِير
3. بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِبِالسَّاهِرَةِ(will be) awakenedGenitive · مَجْرُور

And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface.

Moses Sent to Pharaoh 15–19

Ayah 15

1. هَلۡهَلْHasInterrogative Harf · حَرْف اِسْتِفْهَام
2. أَتَىٰكَاَتٰىكَ(there) come to youPerfect · Form I
3. حَدِيثُحَدِيْثُ(the) storyNominative · مَرْفُوع
4. مُوسَىٰٓمُوْسٰي(of) MusaGenitive · مَجْرُور

Has there reached you the story of Moses? -

Ayah 16

1. إِذۡاِذْWhenTime adverb · ظَرْف زَمَان
2. نَادَىٰهُنَادٰىهُcalled himPerfect · Form III
3. رَبُّهُۥرَبُّهٗhis LordNominative · مَرْفُوع
4. بِٱلۡوَادِبِالْوَادِin the valleyGenitive · مَجْرُور
5. ٱلۡمُقَدَّسِالْمُقَدَّسِthe sacredGenitive · مَجْرُور
6. طُوًىطُوًي(of) TuwaGenitive · مَجْرُور

When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Ṭuwā,

Ayah 17

1. ٱذۡهَبۡاِذْهَبْGoImperative · Form I
2. إِلَىٰاِلٰيtoPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
3. فِرۡعَوۡنَفِرْعَوْنَFiraunGenitive · مَجْرُور
4. إِنَّهُۥاِنَّهٗIndeed, heAccusative Harf · حَرْف نَصْب
5. طَغَىٰطَغٰي(has) transgressedPerfect · Form I

"Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed.
