Oaths by Sacred Places 1–3

Ayah 1

1. وَٱلتِّينِوَالتِّيْنِBy the figGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. وَٱلزَّيۡتُونِوَالزَّيْتُوْنِand the oliveGenitive · مَجْرُور

By the fig and the olive

Ayah 2

1. وَطُورِوَطُوْرِAnd (the) MountGenitive · مَجْرُور
2. سِينِينَسِيْنِيْنَSinaiGenitive · مَجْرُور

And [by] Mount Sinai

Ayah 3

1. وَهَٰذَاوَهٰذَاAnd thisDemonstrative · اِسْم إِشَارَة
2. ٱلۡبَلَدِالْبَلَدِ[the] cityGenitive · مَجْرُور
3. ٱلۡأَمِينِالْاَمِيْنِ[the] secureGenitive · مَجْرُور

And [by] this secure city [i.e., Makkah],

Man's Rise and Fall 4–6

Ayah 4

1. لَقَدۡلَقَدْIndeedHarf of certainty · حَرْف تَحْقِيق
2. خَلَقۡنَاخَلَقْنَاWe createdPerfect · Form I
3. ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَالْاِنْسَانَmanAccusative · مَنْصُوب
4. فِيٓفِيْٓinPreposition · حَرْف جَرّ
5. أَحۡسَنِاَحْسَنِ(the) bestGenitive · مَجْرُور
6. تَقۡوِيمٖتَقْوِيْمٍmouldGenitive · مَجْرُور

We have certainly created man in the best of stature;

Ayah 5

1. ثُمَّThenConjunction · حَرْف عَطْف
2. رَدَدۡنَٰهُرَدَدْنٰهُWe returned himPerfect · Form I
3. أَسۡفَلَاَسْفَلَ(to the) lowestAccusative · مَنْصُوب
4. سَٰفِلِينَسٰفِلِيْنَ(of the) lowGenitive · مَجْرُور

Then We return him to the lowest of the low,

Ayah 6

1. إِلَّااِلَّاExceptExceptive Harf · أَدَاة اِسْتِثْنَاء
2. ٱلَّذِينَالَّذِيْنَthose whoRelative pronoun · اِسْم مَوْصُول
3. ءَامَنُواْاٰمَنُوْاbelievePerfect · Form IV
4. وَعَمِلُواْوَعَمِلُواand doPerfect · Form I
5. ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِالصّٰلِحٰتِrighteous deedsAccusative · مَنْصُوب
6. فَلَهُمۡفَلَهُمْthen for themPronoun · ضَمِير
7. أَجۡرٌاَجْرٌ(is a) rewardNominative · مَرْفُوع
8. غَيۡرُغَيْرُneverNominative · مَرْفُوع
9. مَمۡنُونٖمَمْنُوْنٍendingGenitive · مَجْرُور

Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds, for they will have a reward uninterrupted.

Allah's Perfect Justice 7–8

Ayah 7

1. فَمَاThen whatInterrogative noun · اِسْم اِسْتِفْهَام
2. يُكَذِّبُكَcauses you to denyImperfect · Form II
3. بَعۡدُبَعْدُafter (this)Time adverb · ظَرْف زَمَان
4. بِٱلدِّينِبِالدِّيْنِthe judgmentGenitive · مَجْرُور

So what yet causes you to deny the Recompense?

Ayah 8

1. أَلَيۡسَاَلَيْسَIs notPerfect · Form I
2. ٱللَّهُاللّٰهُAllahNominative · مَرْفُوع
3. بِأَحۡكَمِبِاَحْكَمِ(the) Most JustGenitive · مَجْرُور
4. ٱلۡحَٰكِمِينَالْحٰكِمِيْنَ(of) the JudgesGenitive · مَجْرُور

Is not Allāh the most just of judges?
