Man's Helplessness on Resurrection Day 7–15

فَإِذَافَاِذَاSo when
بَرِقَis dazzled
ٱلۡبَصَرُالْبَصَرُthe vision

So when vision is dazzled

وَخَسَفَAnd becomes dark
ٱلۡقَمَرُالْقَمَرُthe moon

And the moon darkens

وَجُمِعَAnd are joined
ٱلشَّمۡسُالشَّمْسُthe sun
وَٱلۡقَمَرُوَالْقَمَرُand the moon

And the sun and the moon are joined,

يَقُولُيَقُوْلُWill say
ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُالْاِنْسَانُ[the] man
يَوۡمَئِذٍيَوْمَىِٕذٍthat Day
أَيۡنَاَيْنَWhere
ٱلۡمَفَرُّالْمَفَرُّ(is) the escape

Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?"

كـَلَّاكَلَّاBy no means
لَا(There is) no
وَزَرَrefuge

No! There is no refuge.

إِلَىٰاِلٰىTo
رَبِّكَyour Lord
يَوۡمَئِذٍيَوْمَىِٕذِthat Day
ٱلۡمُسۡتَقَرُّاࣙلْمُسْتَقَرُّ(is) the place of rest

To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence.

يُنَبَّؤُاْيُنَبَّو͏ٔ͏ُاWill be informed
ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُالْاِنْسَانُ[the] man
يَوۡمَئِذِۭيَوْمَىِٕذٍۭthat Day
بِمَاof what
قَدَّمَhe sent forth
وَأَخَّرَوَاَخَّرَand kept back

Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back.

بَلِNay
ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُالْاِنْسَانُ[The] man
عَلَىٰعَلٰيagainst
نَفۡسِهِۦنَفْسِهٖhimself
بَصِيرَةٞبَصِيْرَةٌ(will be) a witness

Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness,

وَلَوۡوَّلَوْEven if
أَلۡقَىٰاَلْقٰىhe presents
مَعَاذِيرَهُۥمَعَاذِيْرَهٗhis excuses

Even if he presents his excuses.

7 So when vision is dazzled 8 And the moon darkens 9 And the sun and the moon are joined, 10 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 11 No! There is no refuge. 12 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 13 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 14 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 15 Even if he presents his excuses.
